Beschreibung
This work is part of the ongoing series The Anatomy of Control, exploring control not as power, but as a psychological response to vulnerability.
Unlike the preceding works, this painting does not depict struggle directly. The seated figure appears exhausted, suspended between collapse and acceptance. Fragments of vibrant color emerge beneath the dark surface, suggesting that release often begins where resistance ends.
Rather than offering resolution, the painting leaves space for ambiguity. It proposes that freedom is not achieved through greater control, but through the courage to relinquish it.
The expressive brushwork and layered surfaces intentionally contrast with the restrained monochromatic works within the series, marking a quiet turning point.
It leaves the viewer with one final question:
Who might we become once we stop trying to control everything?
